See this glorious yellow bush of wonder? It’s a desert delight called Lady Banks Rose. I have a slight love/hate relationship with it. I hate that it only blooms like this once a year in the springtime, for about a month. Then it goes back to being a green vine/bush for the rest of the year. At first, I thought “What a joke! Why can’t it look that way longer than just a short, ridiculous month??”
Yet, I have gotten past my whining about it and have embraced it’s beauty. It has taught me to patiently wait for the spring, and await this plant’s gift to the world. I love searching through the bush with my lens, looking for an angle that sparks joy within me. I seriously take nearly a hundred pictures of the bush, only to find those few images that are winners to me.
So, I will keep the Lady Banks rose bush in my happy plants list. You got lucky, plant:)
