I set a goal for this year to begin blogging consistently again. I just began this goal yesterday, so hooray for progress! Blogging on my photography website has been daunting for me in the past. I used to think that I could only blog when I had a photo session to share, and I needed to have the family’s life story to share with the post. No quite so. I’m thankful for the education I have discovered recently on the importance of blogging.
One of the posts I read was about creating a month’s worth of blogging content from a beautiful photographer in Hawaii, Vanessa Hicks. At first, I was intrigued by this. A month’s worth, really? Yet, that would be great to have ideas and plan it out. No more wondering, “What am I going to blog about?” She talked about creating series and sharing your pictures through those series. I never even thought of this before, and I’m thankful to have discovered it. It makes planning a blog post much easier.
So, I’m going to create some series for my humble little blog of my hopefully inspiring thoughts. I’ve been having fun thinking of topics. I’m excited to do this, because I want to be more personal and I have so many good things to talk about that’s not exactly photography related, but just really good resources. I also want to share favorite quotes, my photography story, things I love, and more.
Finally, I have realized what photography blogs are for; to share uplifting content, visual beauty, thoughts about life and motherhood, the list could go on. I love my Instagram account, but I don’t have enough space to share full thoughts in those little captions. Here is where I can write more in depth for anyone out there reading. My little world of beauty in a simple blog. I love it.
